Q. How long does the DJ play for? (If required a DJ can be source for your function)
A. The DJ will start immediately after the band is finished and will play till venue curfew. (This is usually from about 11.30pm to 2am)

Q. Can I suggest songs for the DJ to play during his set?
A. If you like you can prepare a list of your favorites for the DJ and he can sprinkle them in his set while keeping the momentum of the evening going. More often than not, guests usually request songs on the fly as the night progresses. This is a better way as then the audience themselves are making their own night special.

Q. Can I request some changes in the bands song list?
A. Yes, but it is much easier to have the DJ sprinkle in your favorites rather than the band. Sometimes the wrong songs in the bands set can spoil the momentum of their performance.
Never the less, if you have some suggestions and the band knows them, then by all means the band could include them.

Q. When does the band set up their equipment?
A. People normally stretch their legs and have a cigarette etc after the meal and speeches. The equipment is normally set up during this time.
Our equipment is very compact and modular. It takes 20mins to be ready to play.
NOTE: the Glitterbugs and POMP are the only exception to this time frame as it takes the band 20mins to get into costume. Usually this is done while the "30mins of general music" CD is playing, so there are no delays!

Q. How does a weddings evening entertainment schedule run?
A. The following is typical of a Glitterbugs or POMP wedding schedule.
(NOTE: If your not happy with any of this don’t worry, we will work to your schedule)
After the meal and speeches, the band will set up and sound-check. This takes about 30mins.
Background music will be played as soon as the sound system is set up.
Then, when the bride and groom are ready, the first dance song will be played (from a CD) followed by about "15mins of general music" to get the evening going.
The band will then come on directly after that. (Followed by the DJ if one has been booked)
This serves three purposes.....
(1) The band needs 15mins to get into costume after setup & sound-check
(2) Most people after sitting down for 2 hours at any function will want to take a smoke break and a leg stretch. And possibly the bride and groom will want to freshen up in their room also.
(3) Your guests need a bit of time for ear adjustment ;-) I.E. the Glitterbugs, POMP and Funky Nights (being live bands!) is only as quite as the acoustic drums .....normally not a problem seen as you have hired the Glitterbugs or POMP ;-)

Q. Would it be possible to play a good mix of 'Oldie's Music?!! ….as there are going to be a lot of older relations attending the wedding?
A. The "15 mins of general music" could be anything of your choice really and if you have a personal preference, you can email on your favorites and a CD can be made free of charge. Or by all means do one up yourself.
For example, one couple recently (realizing their varied audience; especially the older folk) had a CD request as follows:
Their First Dance Song, followed by:
The Way You Look Tonight - Frank Sinatra.
Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Andy Williams.
Dancing Cheek To Cheek - Frank Sinatra.
In the Mood - Glen Miller.
Return To Sender - Elvis.
Blue Suede Shoes - Elvis.
She Loves You - The Beatles.
Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash.
It's Been A Hard Day's Night - The Beatles
(That’s about 30mins)
Of course you can suggest your own up to date floor fillers like these:
(This is what is usually played)
Scissor Sisters
Amy Wine house
Pointer Sisters
Wham
Grease
Mika
Michael Jackson
Lady GaGa
Etc…

Q. I have seen the band at a venue and they use some bad language. Is this the case at a wedding?
A. The bands (in particular the Glitterbugs and POMP) do get a little wilder at a typical venue show alright, but rest assured that the band members are fully aware of the fact that at a wedding there are children and older folk present and bad language is not allowed!
